Not Me is a project that focuses on combating stereotypes and misconceptions. I asked each person to write a sentence using the statement "My black is..." or "My black isn't..." and the end result is a moving project with over 70 empowering words.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, or in this case three. In this project I explored the idea of capturing the essence of someone, their values, and how they see themselves in a single portrait. The portraits are accompanied by original poetry.
